This project was a bid market award for the most recent Federal Credit Union branch located in Fallston, Maryland. Construction was completed in December 2012. The owner is currently seeking Certification for LEED New Construction V3 at a minimum of Certified Level. Paul Risk Associates, Inc. provided full time supervision onsite in addition to having a LEED AP Certified Project Manager oversee the project.
The building is a one story, 3,315 SF area providing space for up to 44 occupants. Also included is a 1,388 SF two-lane covered drive-thru with ATM service. Construction consisted of new metal stud framing bearing walls with masonry veneer and a wood truss roof system. Custom millwork was fabricated and installed for the arched teller line and a full height glass wall partition system is featured for open visible office spaces. Pervious parking pavers and a rainwater cistern collection system for irrigation were installed as LEED designed items. In addition, the brick veneer was selected based on the fly ash content. The HVAC system had to be inspected by a Commissioning Authority to receive final LEED approval. The completed facility offers another convenient location for the APGFCU to provide their services to a growing customer base in the Maryland area.
